About
Culture Design is a two part extension of NMP, asking ordinary folks to gather with us in reclaiming our culture.
“ELIZABETH’S BRIDGE” is an artistic and cultural exchange conceived to bring diverse worlds together through art practice and making it accessible to us ordinary folks.
In an effort to uphold the artistic politics of Elizabeth Catlett, Naima opens her grandmother’s studio to “ELIZABETH’S DAUGHTERS” in an art residency where proceeds go to uplifting and empowering the voices of marginalized communities.

ARTIST IN FOCUS
DELITA MARTIN
We reached out to our sister, master print maker and one of Elizabeth’s Daughters for support…
What followed was an intimate conversation between artists devoted to upholding the voices and spirits of Black women, where Martin graciously offered to pull an edition of prints in support of the forth coming film, ELIZABETH SPEAKS. In a residency dedicated to honoring the practice and voice of our shared mother Elizabeth, Martin will print and pull her edition from Catlett’s own printing press located in her home studio, preserved in Cuernavaca, México.
The limited edition will be available for two weeks only from February 20 - March 7. To Pre-Order, click the button below.
While not produced by NMP, please enjoy the educational video to your right, “In Focus: Delita Martin” presented by National Museum of Women In The Arts.
What is “Culture Design?”
Definition of Culture Design
Culture exists within us. It is the essence and spirit of our histories that runs in our blood. It is the current of expression that fills the heart and invites the spirit to move.
Culture Design is asking folks to not wait to become the trend. In an age of “influence,” few actually influence. To be the trend you are seeking in the culture you choose to design.
Designing a culture rooted in the preservation of ideals that have historically empowered marginalized people through the creation of art. In Culture Design, we aim to invite folks to educate the human spirit through the visual experience as a vehicle meant to resonate with the human mind and heart.
Culture Design placing our work as creatives into the hands of our people, trusting the divine and emotional intelligence of the audiences we seek to empower through this on going collaboration.
Culture Design, as presented as ELIZABETH'S BRIDGE by ELIZABETH'S DAUGHTERS, is proudly supported by the Elizabeth Catlett-Mora Family Living Trust.

In the intimate residency space of Elizabeth Catlett’s home studio, artists also known affectionately as “Elizabeth’s Daughters” are invited to work and produce a series that can be sold or gifted to institutions, projects or cultural spaces that empower marginalized communities. Together we uphold Catlett’s legacy and the mantle of her artistic politics to make the best art that is also accessible for her people — because we deserve the best.
